Again, it was on impulse. Haha but I told myself not to whine regardless of how it'd turn out (must grow up!).
So, at least for now, I no longer have any use for rubber bands.

Petrina, u're not alone now. hah

Better things to worry abt now, like the 40% test next wk thats making me so depressed, cos there's a crazy lot to study.

I cant wait for 12 Oct to be over.

(as the Maori would say) Tēnā koutou!

I've learnt a few words of Maori and I'm so excited hahahaha.
Mapping late into the nights the past few days has made my hair dry like grass (no time for conditioner and serum), has made my complexion worse (not enough sleep), and has made me more moody (not enough sleep).

Anw this is so random, but I actually dreamt of hohoho last night. After like a million years of not contacting him. Dreams are just so strange.

I'm feeling so lazy and tired, but I have to drag myself for tuition now. Well ,at least I get to see doodle and have him lick me haha he's so cute.

e noho rä haere rä hei konei rä!

I'm so pissed. Seriously.
I cant believe what I've done might be in vain. To think I spent almost an eternity on it. I hate wasting my efforts. I really do.

Just. Slap. Me.

It doesnt help that there's a million and one stuff to settle within the short deadline, its so overwhelming, and driving me nuts.

Not easy. Not easy at all.

Finally, a proper meet up with dearest Eileen. My best sister guide, my best class chairperson, my best classroom partner! She's such an amzaing friend, I'm so glad I havent lost her despite us having not met up for the longest time due to her tight schedule.

And so we sampled our way through all the mooncake booths at Taka Sq. HAHA. As usual. Thats what happens when you put two of us tgt. The aunties in us. heh.

I was so bloated after that, I probably consumed 3/4 of an entire mooncake in total.
It was so difficult to resist the mooncakes which were calling out to us, I got myself a box of 4, with another 2 complimentary, while Eileen got herself yam pastry and some mini snowskins. hahah.

Vic popped by after tt, and it was back to the good old times in Crescent. It was a pity Claire couldnt make it. Else, it'd be a really nice reunion! I still remember our (almost) weekly Saturday lunches after CCA.

Eileen!

Amazed by the VERY tiny tea cup.

Okay, and so my mouth isnt as huge as Eileen's

Pardon the lack of updates, but I'm pretty sure u guys wont need to hear me rant about school. Starving through long boring lectures, trying hard to make out what our heavily-accented lecturers are droning on and on about, the list just goes on.

Alrdy in the 4th (or issit 5th) week of the new school term, yet my body clock has somehow not been tuned. My sleeping and waking hours are all so screwy, its hard to keep awake during lectures (esp when your will fails you. 'must not sleep, must not sleep, must not sleep x1000. aiyah just sleep. copy later').

Coming to that topic on irregular sleeping hours, I napped for a record time of about 5 hrs yesterday afternoon, almost straight after lunch and grocery-shopping. 2 plus pm to 7 pm, just in time for dinner.=/
Went to bed at almost 3 cos I just HAD to finish reading all the magazines that have been piling up. HAHA.
And got up at an insane 7am today, cos I promised to drive my Mum to the market. Now u get my point. My sleeping hours are all messed up. Sometimes, I think really am a good daughter.hehh.

The afteroon was spent making chocolate marshmallows with my Sis, and it was a total disasater! I'll prob nv wanna attempt it again. We wasted 2 huge blocks of milk chocolate, cos they wouldnt melt smoothly over the fire and instead lumped together like hardened and almost rotten milo powder. gross. So we tried the using the microwave oven, but apparently the microwave-safe plastic container melted together with the chocolate and formed a yucky coagulated mass. HEARTPAIN! 2 huge solid blocks of chocolate wasted.
Luckily we managed to melt some really nicely, and made in total of about 28 chocolate-coated marshmallows? They didnt look v pretty though.

Thats the humongous green bright green insect, probbaly a grasshopper (not too sure, it looked really wierd)I spotted on the windscreen.

New comfort (but very sinful) food that I discovered during grocery yesterday.
2-bite brownies (from Canada, according to the promoter). They also have chocolate cookies, praline and this other flavour which I can't recall. Go try it, its really nice la. I'm not too sure if its new in the market, but I havent seen them ard before. haha.

Photos taken in school on Friday, cos we really had nothing better to do.

Miss Clarity Cafe for dinner yesterday and we waited 137506937253 years for our food. Poor XQ's food came so late she had to gobble down her baked fish rice in record time, in order not to be late for the paegant preview. Sci bash was okay, wasnt v good, but wasnt THAT lousy either. But really, DXO isnt/has never been nice.

Oh and I dropped my stockings and my top into the toilet bowl last night. AGAIN. I shld really cultivate the habit of covering the toilet bowl. Sheesh.

Chicken ballotine

When I've got nth better to do, I cut my hair. My Dad thinks I look like a China girl.

4 days into the new semester, and I'm alrady missing my days of freedom. Days of eat-sleep-youtube-shopping. Blah.

Now you know, Sweets. haha. And u still havent lunched/dined with me!

Ended up meeting Vic and Chian instead for dinner. Haha. Dinner at Waraku followed by mudpie for desert at Coffee club (which I finally tasted after many refusals, simply cos I didnt think it'd taste good). But cos my throat hurts and itches so bad, I didnt have much of it. Must be the deep fried chicken wing which I insisted on having despite my mum's advice not to. Ah, the opportunity cost of having a chicken wing.

Chian

Vic's very cool pink specs

I realised, Chian has v long hands
An entire day at the padang yesterday for NUS Rag day saw us all getting burnt by the scorching sun. Now I've this ugly strip of pink across my face. The sore throat that I was already nursing the night before got worse, I had trouble sleeping last night.
My Mum thinks I should just stay home and rest the whole of today, but I've already promised to meet the girls for dinner tonight. I certainly do hope my throat gets better, since I've not met Ally since I cam back from HK. ha hah!

Anyway, pics from Rag yesterday.

Simpsons on Tues night, and boy was it hilarious! We totally laughed our heads off, cos the characters (the entire movie actually) were so so so stupid and dumb. Not much of a plot, the show only serves to make the audience laugh. Still, I enjoyed it pretty much. I appreciate light-hearted shows!

Despite the endless human traffic, we managed pose with the Simpsons for a picture. =))

Then yesterday it was Secret. I was rather skeptical abt it initially, I expected it to be a only-Jay's-fans-would-appreciate kinda movie. But the 8Days review was good so I decided to go see for myself. It turned out to be rather not bad, with a totally unexpected twist. Have I mentioned I like twists? HEH. Anyways, it helps that lead actress looks saccharine-sweet, and Jay, erm actually, he's quite cute, I realised. Oh and good music/songs pleasant to the ears too.

Met up with Vic and Shoe in the night, headed to Timbre for pizza and drinks. Sinful but worth it.

And on my way to tuition this morning in my Dad's car, we passed by this army of senior citizens and toddlers decked out in red and white. SO CUTE LAH!
haha. Happy Birthday Singapore! =))
After tuition it was off to Far East then PS where I had to collect my Grandma's birthday cake. IT WAS SO HEAVY!!!!!!! I lugged the entire cake home with my tauhuay dessert HAHAH, and it didnt help that the huge box with sharp edges kept getting in my way. I had to carry it above my knees (if u even noe what I mean), which was pretty much of a challenge.
Ugly Singaporeans did not offer me any seats in the train. And a horrid guy even bumped into my and the elephant-sized cake.
I'm rather certain I've developed more muscles lugging the cake.
Buffet tonight and I can already hear food calling out to me hahah. Hopefully I'll get some pics taken at my grandma's buffet (party?) tonight. HOPEFULLY.

I'm gonna whywhylove now. BYEEE!

Finally the sun's out after the past one week of rain, the weather all nice and sunny. A tad too hot and scorching for us though, walking barefoot on the sand was akin to walking on fire. Okay, tts a little exaggarated. It was like walking on hot pan. TOTALLY. Kelly looked like she was playing hopscotch while hoping ard, cos the sand was seriously like hot chracoal. Even our slippers (rubber slippers) turned into very good heat conductors. haha. Left Siloso by 3 plus and then Hong Kong food at Kim Gary, Vivo. Affordable and qt alright food!

Caught Alone, the Thai horror flick, with my sis this afternoon, and we were rather amused by the twist. The storyline's pretty good, if I may say. It wasn't exactly THAT scary actually, though the ghost looked really horrifying and hideous. And the typical horror-flick effects (the lightings, and freaky music, and the sudden BOO from behind) actually managed to scare us out of our wits. HAHAHA. We are like so useless please!? Then again, I get a kick out of scaring myself by watching horror shows. ha! ha! Am I perverse or what?!

Which brings me to this really funny article I came across while reading this month's issue of Readers Digest. The article, titled 'Are you normal or nuts' really got me tickled. Its about strange quirks and behaviours, and whether they are normal or unusual/psychiatric treatment-necessary. Quite funny, esp this particular person who wrote in about his wierd habit.

' I hate choosing things. When I grab a spoon out of a drawer, I have a hard time picking one, even though they're all the same. Then, when I finally choose a spoon, I feel bad for all the others. I even sort of apologise to them: "Sorry, guys. Next time!" Is this wierd? '

I just burst out laughing to myself while reading this. Haha and this reminds me of this really strange quirk of mine when I was younger, in Pri 6, I think. I used to wash my hands so often and after touching almost every single thing. haha. No wonder I was like stick thin, like seriously, in Pri 6. All these unnecessary stress. haha. Come to think of it, its quite funny. But really it was exhausting, having to wash my hands so very often. My mum was so worried, she thought I had to see a shrink. But phew thank goodness, that became a thing of the past.

Maybe it was the PSLE stress. haha. kidding.

This is so random, but I dropped my butterfly clip into the toilet bowl again this morning, adding on to the list of stuff I've dropped into it. (rubber bands, bobby pins, toothbrush). Managed to get it out with a pair of chopsticks. I'm rather skillful with it. haha.

Tuesday, July 31, 2007

Menotti with Vic this afternoon, nice random chats (as it has always been) over espresso and ice-cream. Wanted some cakes after the drinks but we were too, too full. Must be the durians haha. After that it was tuition at Charlotte's. I just wanna hug and squeeze Jamie whenever I see her laaaaa, haha she's LIKE HOW ADORABLE PLEASE =)))).

So random, but it sucks to have to wait a week for the next episode!

After much procrastination, I've decided to cut my hair. Much to the delight of Elaine and Kelly, I suppose, since I've been bugging them the entire afternoon.

"eh how? should I cute my hair or not?"
"but how should I cut it?"
"but where should I go cut?"

I told the lady to give it a snip for a uniform length. So now my hair is like, one length. Almost rectangular. She was like, 'are u sure? it'd look shapeless'. I was pretty sure she meant it'd look tootified. haha I thought so too but I couldnt care less la (at that moment), cos thats the only way my hair would look neater. At least tts what I THINK.

And now, I've got a rectangular box for my hair.

Hello all! I'm back from HK!
In HK it was all food and shopping, not to mention, lots of walking. heh.

At the airport

The first night was spent at my uncle's place right after we touched down, and then it was off to Victoria's Peak on Day 2. Shopping at Mongkok after tt, followed by a 12-course dinner at some restaurant which my uncle brought us to. They serve really good peking duck and cheese pasta lobster. But seriously, they over-ordered. There was alot of food wastage that night. I hate to waste food, but we were all really stuffed!

The Peak

What we stuffed ourselves with

Day 3 was spent shopping at Mongkok again (we went there like everyday!) and ladies street as well. Ladies street is so over-rated man. There's nth nice there at all, and all the stalls sell the same things. Stall owners are rude and fierce. Some kind of tourist atraction indeed. They are all smiles only when u buy from them. Xu liu shan for dessert that night, and I regret not having more of it.

On Day 4, breakfast was at the Yee Shun Milk Company near our hotel, and they have the nicest, really nicest, steamed milk pudding of all flavours. I would have more of that if I was already bloated. Ocean Park after that, and it was oh-my-gosh-so-freaking-crowded. And packed. We had to jostle out way through and there were snaking queues for almost all the rides. It didnt help that that the place is so huge and mountainous. Coupled with the scorching sun and intense heat, it was terrible. WE were sweating like pigsssss. The only times we managed to get away from the crowd was on the ferris wheel (not before having to queue for an eternity) and also during the cable car ride to the lowlands. I am seriously not a theme park fan. NOT AT ALL.
Causeway Bay for shopping after that, and then back to erm Mongkok for more shopping and food. Star Ferry and Tsim Sha Tsui for the lights then back to Mongkok for desserts.

On Day 5, we headed to Shenzhen. It wasn't as scary as we thought it to be. We've heard horror stories abt how pple often get robbed, pickpocketed or kidnapped from my aunt who goes there often. And how we must always stay tgt in a big grp. But maybe cos we didnt go beyond Luo Wu. Even my aunt who's familiar with the place did not dare to venture into the Dong Men area. Nonetheless, the pple there certainly have a way of cheating us of our money. BLAH. Thats one reason why I wouldnt like to shop in China. However, price haggling has never been easier. haha. Almost all tt we bought was slashed to one third of the price they offered. So.....satisfying. haha.
Foot message after that. It was shiokkkkkkkkk.
Then back to Prince Edward and Mongkok. HAHAHAHA I have no idea why my cousin keeps bringing us there la, but there's really much to shop and eat there.

Dim sum breakfast on the last day. Dim sum there's really cheap by Singapore's standards. We over-ordered. Again. HAHA. But we managed to polish everything up though. And to our horror, at the airport, our uncle brought us to this dim sum restaurant for more dim sum before our flight. Yes, so that day it was nth but a crazy lot of dim sum. lol.

Our dim sum breakfast

More dimsum at the airport =/
