PUFF, THE MAGIC DRAGON-Peter, Paul and Mary
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff,
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff. Oh
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.
Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail,
Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came,
Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name. Oh!
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.
A dragon lives forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giants' rings make way for other toys.
One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.
His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain,
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without his lifelong friend, Puff could not be brave,
So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave. Oh!
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

Done with school!
Lunch @ the salad bar with Vicki @ ORQ today, the lunch crowd at ORQ is crazily daunting. The pace of life there is indescribable, everyone's in a perpetual rush, lunch bags/takeaways in hand. Indeed its a stark contrast from lunch time in school, a time for students (expect year 4s) to gather for chow and HTHT, and to simply chill. The only semblance? Snaking queues.
Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon a quiet BK outlet, happy to just have with me my nano, the day's papers and a nice cold drink to while my time away. Away from the heat and overwhelming buzz of human activity.

Been itching for it for the longest time ever. Here are five great reasons why one SHOULD own a Chanel Flap Bag!
Credits: http://www.purseblog.com/chanel-bags/five-reasons-to-own-a-chanel-flap-bag.html
1. They’re just going to go up in price later: Seriously, are you considering buying one? If you are, go ahead and do it. Chanel is among the masters of the crippling price increase, jacking up the MSRPs of its bags every six months to a year, sometimes by as much as $500 for a basic bag. As a general rule, bags don’t hold their value all that well, but constantly rising prices keep the timeless flap bags fairly easy to resell later. Plus, even if you don’t take resale into consideration, you’re just going to have to fork over more cash if you wait.
2. Owning one is like getting in to one of the most exclusive sororities on campus: Except, you know, this is real life. Legendary actresses, socialites and royals have carried this bag, and hey, if you can’t marry a prince, you can at least buy the same bag as the broads who can. Or the same bag as the girls from The Hills – it seems as though the bag has become the go-to accessory when a younger woman wants to signal to the world that she has grown and matured into a fashionable lady.
3. So many designers have been “inspired” by the flap – if you’re going to pay big bucks, get the original: Everyone from Urban Outfitters to Marc Jacobs has been accused of stealing from Chanel’s signature bag, and there’s a good reason for that – it’s timeless, iconic and still as relevant to luxury customers today as it was back in the 1950s. Chain straps and quilted leather have become nearly synonymous with the idea of the designer handbag, and the Chanel flap may even be more well-known across the world than the illustrious handbag holy grail, the Hermes Birkin.
4. Buy a flap bag in caviar leather and it will likely outlive me and you both: Seriously, that stuff is indestructible. Run your fingers – no, better yet, run your fingernails along it next time you’re near a Chanel bag made of the material, and you’ll see what I mean. It has a finish nearly as tough as Louis Vuitton monogram canvas, but you’re paying for actual leather instead of, well, canvas. With how much those monogram bags run these days, the price of a neutral leather Chanel bag with similar durability seems downright reasonable. But…
5. Despite their cultural ubiquity, the bags themselves are still too price-prohibitive for everyone to own: They come in sizes ranging from XS to XL, but even the smallest of the Chanel flap bags is way more expensive than the average woman wants to spend. You’re in no danger of seeing your bag on every woman on the block (unless you live on a really, really nice block, but if you do, there’s probably no sense in trying to stay one step ahead anyway), and even if you see a lot of people carrying non-Chanel bags that look similar, there’s absolutely no comparison when you see and hold a Chanel flap bag in person.

This whole arduous process of job searching is really getting to me. Sometimes I really doubt those recruitment agencies, cos they always make it seem as though they've tons of jobs available when in fact they have none?
This is not fun at all.
And it really doesn't help that my ideal job is so outta this world.
sometimes I do think that the course u're in does make a tremendous difference. sigh makes me regret giving up my place in WKWSCI all over again. If I hadnt, I might just be a step closer to landing my ideal job (if I'm lucky enough, that is. heh).
I don't totally abhor the course that I'm currently in, but the opportunities out there are just so limited.

Gosh, I was looking through the archives and was brought back to entries dated couple years back (shall not say the exact year hehe).
And I was flabbergasted by the way I used to write. Haha reading them again seriously made me cringe NON-STOP, it was pretty infantile, to say the least. Breaking up my sentences with trains of dots (ie, Hihi.........so how was ur day, etc. WAS THAT THE TREND LAST TIME??????). Not too sure if I should laugh or cry!
Cant believe I was so free to detail almost EVERY SINGLE ACTIVITY of my day. I actually believed pple were interested to know what I did. (maybe **** la, but still!)
Then again, it was X years ago. Feels quite nice reading them over again and laugh at myself though. Makes for good boring afternoon =)
Still cant stop cringing. hahaha.

I use way too much tissue paper a day I feel so ashamed of myself, esp so at a time where we NEED to reduce our carbon footprint and sustain our greens. Its scary thinking that our world rice supply will plummet by a good 20-40% by 2050, with an estimated $300 billion being needed in the long run to fight global warming.
I've been using recycled paper to print my lectures notes all these while, so I guess that kind of makes up for my excessive usage of tissue paper, no?
I've not been quite a green activist myself, but reading about some of the issues brought up at the UN Climate Change Conference made me feel that we've all underestimated the severity of the damage we've brought upon the Earth----all in the name of development and industrialization. Or rather, many of us, including myself, don't even bother simply because we're not directly affected by the global warming(or at least not yet). We complain that the weather's getting hotter by the day, but do nothing about it because life still goes on as usual isnt it?
The impact of our carbon footprints is just all too great, yet we've been blinded (by choice) to it. Lets all change to build a better planet for a better future and a more sustainable way of life!

I just came home from town and my Mum got me a new wallet!!!!!!!! I was just asking her this morning if she knew where my Sis kept her old wallet cos I needed it since I had to send my current wallet for maintenance, and she said that she'll get me a new wallet instead, and give my Sis my current wallet once its repaired!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine my shock!!!! I was totally O_O. I told her that it isn't necessary cos my current wallet's pretty new still, but I think my Mum loves me alot she insisted on buying, so I'm not complaining!=) My Mummy's so nice, not just in the material sense (not that I advocate materialism, but she just wants the best for me), but in the emotional/all other aspects as well. I really thank God for giving me such wonderful parents!
So here's my new babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! =)) And some picas from dinner with BT yest!

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
I really do! How nice it'd be if I could spend a cold wintery white Christmas, definitely not in Singapore cos we can wait till the cows come home for Singapore to snow =(
Anyhows, just a short blog entry, running out of brain juices these days, I absolutely have nth to blog abt! I had half a mind to blog abt my Europe trip in detail to relive those good ol' days and wonderful (and maybe some not-too-wonderful) memories, but I realised I didnt record down a journal of what we did every single day in each country/city we visited (which I kinda regret simply cos its Europe! and who noes if I'd ever return to those places again since I don't print money), and its no fun blogging based on just memory so yups!

I'm amazed that I'm still able to log in to blogger. I was expecting myself to get the password wrong since it'd been ages since I last logged in, but anyhows, I still managed to.
It has been a horrible (horrible is really an understatement) and majorly depressing exam week, my papers all did not go well, save for 1, but that really was easy peasy for EVERYONE as well, so yup, if u'd been in NUS before u'll know that its not a very great thing either. Presentation for one of the cores was a major screw up it pulled down my otherwise-not-bad CA grade to an all time low. I wouldnt have been very worried for that module if not for the presentation. I'm such a loser, my grade is terrible now, I can't be more ashamed about it. And its not without any reason that I say that year 4 is horridepressing, cos I totally screwed up the CA for another core. :'( and the finals for this particular module didnt go any better, maybe in fact worse. I got stuff mixed up, shaded answers I wasnt even sure of (negative marking is costly), I dont know how else to describe except to say I screwed it up, but u get it. it was bad pronto.
I didnt remember feeling this way in yr 3, and thats why I miss yr 3 so much. Modules CAs Exams were smooth-sailing, nothing like now. Though I'm already in year 4 and people think that year 4s ought to just chill cos quoting them, "ur CAP is not gonna change much anyway", I seriously doubt their words.
I'm mad pissed with myself for being such a loser and being so stupid with such bad grades this sem, I'm mad worried that my CAP will drop. If it really has to drop, I just hope my class of Hons wont be affected. Cause when tt happens, I doubt I'll be able to land a job in Stat boards. :'(
I'm mad worried. I'm mad worried. I'm mad pissed for getting lousy grades.
But oh wells, exams are over so I shall STRIVE not to be bugged by all these and worry only when results are released.
Meanwhile, I'm hoping lab will go well (hate to feel stressed by lab).
ok, I'm done with ranting.

Blogging again on the request of my ONLY reader. Not that I've got any blog-worthy updates. I'm just typing aimlessly to fill this space.
1. attended my first ever church wedding. I wanna be a jie-mei (bridesmaid)! Vicki Lam get married soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. met up with Vicki at this awfully awesome salad bar at ORQ which does really good salads and wraps and we talked about work, school, ideal weddings and yada yada. I'm so looking forward to being her bridesmaid LOL!
3. watched Lenny play soccer at some soccer cage and felt totally out of place cos I was the only spectator hahaha.
Pardon me for all my incoherent thoughts, I have no idea, absolutely no idea what to write, and I've even fewer pictures to post.
The randomness of pictures in the most random order in this shallowest blog post ever: THE salad and wrap Vic and I had this afternoon, Royce chocolate square which no one at home eats except me, Eiffel Tower keychain which I got from Paris (bargaining skills put to good use). And I was really bored in the car heh heh heh.

Sch has started, but nth much to look forward to since its gonna be a pretty much draining semester with (almost) daily trips to the lab. I'm missing those days when we'd just have lectures followed by breaks for us to stone/daydream. Now, any free time we have goes towards lab. OH SIGH.
WHY MUST HOLIDAYS END SO SOON!

I am back! I've been back since Monday, just that I was a tad too lazy to update. Its been almost a full month since I've posted an entry, gosh. In all, I did enjoy my trip in Europe though it got pretty tiring (and draining on the pockets) at times. Basically I covered quite a number of places and that's why I'm feeling so damn broke now. London, Nottingham, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Zurich, Milan, Florence, Rome, Paris, Geneva, Manchester, Frankfurt and back to London. I've soooooo much to say about these places that I've been too, but I'm too lazy, and I don't know how/where to start, so I prob wont be writing alot about my trip. Pics are almost all up on Facebook.
Just some observations:
1. There are really ALOT of beggars and homeless people in Europe, even in large cities/capitals like Paris, Frankfurt, London. I remember vividly this lady who went up to this guy who was having his meal outside an eatery to ask him for a slice of pizza, while I was in Paris.
2. Europeans are big on pets, or rather, dogs/puppies. You see people walking along the streets with their canines, and that explains why there is dog poo all over the streets in most places in Europe. Walking along the streets is like playing mind-sweeper, cos u really gotta watch out for dog poo.
3. Train/metro stations usually smell strongly of pee. I think it might have sth to do with having to pay to use public toilets (how dumb right!). Alternatively, might be the doings of the homeless, since most seek shelter at train/metro stations at night.
4. ALOT of spit on the roads. yucks.
5. I spent 3 nights in airports in total. London-Gatwick, Paris-CDG, Frankfurt-Hahn. I nv saw myself doing that, but I did. It wasnt all too bad, just tt it was damn uncomfortable, and in Paris, there were other homeless people sleeping in the airport too. Like what Lenny said, they're harmless (probably), but it just scares me. This just contributed to my insomnia.
6. You have no idea how much I adore Changi Airport (at least we can get food all night round, I think?) after having been to so many airports in Europe be it budget or international.
7. I finally appreciate our 'no gums' and 'no spitting' and 'no littering' and whatnots rules.
8. Our MRT trains are damn clean!
9. Singapore is cheap food-wise (in fact, VERY VERY cheap), but the sales here are nth compared to Europe. 20% here and they think its a great deal. Just check out the sales in Europe, man! They have like 40-70% off in many places on many items including Jimmy Choos, Loewe, Prada, Chloe, Marc Jacobs, and even the non-high end brands like HnM (LOVES) and Uniqlo and all tt stuff. Then again, maybe it was just cos I managed to catch their Summer Sale.
10. I actually like moving from one place to another! I thought it'll be damn tiring to always be on the move, but I realised it can be quite boring to stay in a particular place for too long, so I was usually looking forward to the next destination.
So many more thoughts, but I can't recolllect them now. oh wells. I missed Singapore when I was there, but now I kinda feel like going back to buy more stuff cos the prices of bags in Singapore are really marked up by a few hundred dollars almost a thousand! so crazy right! hahah. IF only I'm rich enough, I'd make it an annual thing. I really shld stop day-dreaming.
Oh yeah, Italians and Danes are HOT. They're damn chic.
Lenny told me to limit the amt of clothes to bring cos we'd be doing it back-packing style. Hence I felt under-dressed for almost the entire trip. =(

Brussels didnt seem too nice to me at first, but I was gradually won over by their waffles, chocolates, mussels, and last but not least, the awesomely fabulous Grand Place. Was at Amsterdam before Brussels, and Amsterdam is alot about sex and canals. The red light district didnt disappoint, it certainly was an eye opener for us. The canals were equally beautiful-----almost postcard worthy. Will be heading to Zurich tonight, and YAY finally we'll be putting up at a hotel, not hostel. Totally looking forward to Swisshotel!

hejhej!
Currently located at my hostel in Copenhagen, we were forced to retreat back to our hostel so early at 4pm cos of the bad weather. Strong winds traveling at the speed 3x that of yesterday made our umbrellas flip every few steps, it was a struggle just to maintain the grip on our brollies and to walk against the wind. Its seriously like a typhoon man. You see pple along the streets with their umbrellas flipped upside down, inc ours. But most danes are cool. They can go w/o umbrellas and still cycle in the rain. Btw, the majority of the pple here get their way around on bicycles. So its sorta like a bicycle town, its pretty cool. But still, the weather was/is really bad, we couldnt go to many places. Doesnt help that it rains non-stop! argh. even though the air temp is above 10 celsius, I am pretty sure the wind temp isnt! I bet its below 10 celsius la. And cos my shoes were wet from yest's rain, I wore slippers out today, cos they dry way faster than my shoes. The downside is that I look like a totaly fashion disaster with jeans and slippers. Surprisingly my toes didnt feel as cold and frozen as I had expected them to be!
Basically Copenhagen is a nice and beautiful place, but the bad weather the past few days just spoiled it all. Hopefully Amsterdam will be wayyyyyyyyyy better so that I can wear slippers and shorts out!
Currently located at my hostel in Copenhagen, we were forced to retreat back to our hostel so early at 4pm cos of the bad weather. Strong winds traveling at the speed 3x that of yesterday made our umbrellas flip every few steps, it was a struggle just to maintain the grip on our brollies and to walk against the wind. hello! greetings from Nottingham! Its freezing here at 10 degrees celsius, well, at least for summer. It feels more like winter to me, esp since I'm barely equipped w cold wear!
Touched down at London yest clad in cardigan and shorts (hey its supposed to be summer!), and was met with cold bitter wind, heavy rain, and was forced to get a thicker jacket (not qt winter wear but still its better than my thin as rice paper cardigans haha) from H&M. H&N seriously rocks la I went trigger happy when I saw 2 huge mega H&M stores within extremely close proximity of each other in London, which by the way, is awesomely beautiful.
Arrived at Nottingham after a long journey, and by then my toes and fingers felt almost frozen ( cant be bent!), my face almost stiff as cardboard whenever the wind blew past.
It rained a little this morning but I was kinda soaked through cos we went out early in the morn to visit some of Lenny's SEP mates in their rooms cos halfway the rain suddenly got heavier and the winds got stronger it was HORRIBLE. For an instant, I actually missed Singapore's weather!
And so cos of the rain we had to stay indoors after tt, and I used the opportunity to catch up on more sleep before heading out again in the late afternoon to explore the campus. The place is really qt pretty and peaceful, the weather slightly better with the sun finally out (though the occasional wind was kinda crazy as usual).
My fingers still feel kinda stiff despite typing so much in an attempt to warm them up =(
