Hello all! I'm back from HK!
In HK it was all food and shopping, not to mention, lots of walking. heh.
At the airport
The first night was spent at my uncle's place right after we touched down, and then it was off to Victoria's Peak on Day 2. Shopping at Mongkok after tt, followed by a 12-course dinner at some restaurant which my uncle brought us to. They serve really good peking duck and cheese pasta lobster. But seriously, they over-ordered. There was alot of food wastage that night. I hate to waste food, but we were all really stuffed!
The Peak
What we stuffed ourselves with
Day 3 was spent shopping at Mongkok again (we went there like everyday!) and ladies street as well. Ladies street is so over-rated man. There's nth nice there at all, and all the stalls sell the same things. Stall owners are rude and fierce. Some kind of tourist atraction indeed. They are all smiles only when u buy from them. Xu liu shan for dessert that night, and I regret not having more of it.
On Day 4, breakfast was at the Yee Shun Milk Company near our hotel, and they have the nicest, really nicest, steamed milk pudding of all flavours. I would have more of that if I was already bloated. Ocean Park after that, and it was oh-my-gosh-so-freaking-crowded. And packed. We had to jostle out way through and there were snaking queues for almost all the rides. It didnt help that that the place is so huge and mountainous. Coupled with the scorching sun and intense heat, it was terrible. WE were sweating like pigsssss. The only times we managed to get away from the crowd was on the ferris wheel (not before having to queue for an eternity) and also during the cable car ride to the lowlands. I am seriously not a theme park fan. NOT AT ALL.
Causeway Bay for shopping after that, and then back to erm Mongkok for more shopping and food. Star Ferry and Tsim Sha Tsui for the lights then back to Mongkok for desserts.
On Day 5, we headed to Shenzhen. It wasn't as scary as we thought it to be. We've heard horror stories abt how pple often get robbed, pickpocketed or kidnapped from my aunt who goes there often. And how we must always stay tgt in a big grp. But maybe cos we didnt go beyond Luo Wu. Even my aunt who's familiar with the place did not dare to venture into the Dong Men area. Nonetheless, the pple there certainly have a way of cheating us of our money. BLAH. Thats one reason why I wouldnt like to shop in China. However, price haggling has never been easier. haha. Almost all tt we bought was slashed to one third of the price they offered. So.....satisfying. haha.
Foot message after that. It was shiokkkkkkkkk.
Then back to Prince Edward and Mongkok. HAHAHAHA I have no idea why my cousin keeps bringing us there la, but there's really much to shop and eat there.
Dim sum breakfast on the last day. Dim sum there's really cheap by Singapore's standards. We over-ordered. Again. HAHA. But we managed to polish everything up though. And to our horror, at the airport, our uncle brought us to this dim sum restaurant for more dim sum before our flight. Yes, so that day it was nth but a crazy lot of dim sum. lol.
Our dim sum breakfast
More dimsum at the airport =/
