Brunch with Eileen at DTF, where she shared with me about her Vietnam escapade. =) Intrigued by the meringue at Canele, Eileen suggested sharing one, and I allowed myself to agree to it. It took an eternity for us to be served our meringue, and for our bail to come, we half-contemplated walking out. Not like we'd be noticed anyway, admist the bustling lunch crowd. Back to the meringue, it was a total waste of money.
Pretty to the eye, but really, it tasted nothing more than sugar. I couldn't even detect the slightest hint of vanilla. It was painfully sweet and unflavourful (where's the VANILLA! ), we couldnt bring ourselves to finish the entire mountain of it. Doing so might just see us consume a lifetime's worth of sugar. YUCK. I needed ALOT of water to down the meringue.
